Fisk University Receives $25K Scholarship From Beyoncé
For a moment in time, the world seemed to stop. Sounds of snare drums echoed in tandem, horns blared, and a series of mesmerizing explosives illuminated the desert skies signaling the beginning of one of the most anticipated returns of 2018. Beyoncé and her militia of backup dancers stormed the stage accompanied by a marching band with so much soul you may have confused the 1+ hour performance the homecoming halftime show of your favorite HBCU.
Well in the wake of Coachella Beyonce has donated to several HBCUs. Fisk University is the latest HBCU to be announced to receive a $25,000 scholarship from Beyoncé.
Fisk is one of eight schools to receive the money through the star’s “Bey Good” initiative.
The scholarship is for the 2018-2019 academic year and will be offered to a qualified Fisk University student.
University officials will select finalists and will announce a recipient this summer.
