Among them is Eszter Velezdi, a navigator, as well as a car racer and simulator for two years now. During his career so far, Eszti has accumulated a lot of good results with racing cars. Three-time rally champion as a navigator, in 2021 as a driver for the Veteran Mountaineer National Championship 2000 Class Champion, and placed third overall. Like many people around the world, he started competing in simulators in 2020 and has since participated in countless such competitions.
last year, for example, He finished 32nd out of 101 entrants in the Humda Open Gran Turismo Sport Championship. With his best qualifying finish, he also made the top ten, and also had multiple podium finishes in the second divisions. Although this is why he has not replaced real cars with virtual ones, he continues to play simulators regularly due to his past successes and continuous development. jShe is currently participating in the All Women’s Racing Championship that takes place on Gran Turismo 7, which is an international competition. It is organized by CC SIM Racing (British organisation) and is for women only. Eszti is the only Hungarian in this league.
In the third round of the championship, which took place last week, simulator drivers from around the world competed against each other on the Watkins Glen track. one in the evening Great startWith his strong speed and stamina, he finally finished third, leaving far behind his chasing opponents. A good performance was also accompanied by a bit of luck, because the Brazilian and Portuguese competitors who finished ahead of them made a huge mistake: they braked while crossing the finish line, which is not only against the rules, but also dangerous, and therefore leads to disqualification. Thus, Eszti scored not only his first podium, but also his first victory in the series, propelling him into the top half of the table!
Eszti told us about all this as follows:
“It was a very exciting competition, I enjoyed every minute and I’m glad I was able to finish it with such a great result. Struggles, drama but no stopping, the chase continues! We will hit the ring again on March 20th at 9pm HST, this time in Suzuka.”
