Twenty-nine children took part in a fishing competition organized by Tibor Szabo on Friday morning, where the winners were announced based on the weight of the fish caught: 1st place – Susio Andri, 2nd place. Venue – Christophe Sordas, III. Venue – David Rakes. Those who wanted to have fun were invited to the Fráter Lóránd Cultural Center for the evening programme, where the Móka theater group from Érmihályfalvi performed a musical program made up of Italian hits from the 60s, 70s and 80s.

The program kicked off this Saturday morning on the artificial turf football field, where the four teams qualified from the preliminary qualifiers played for the cups. The podium arrangement was as follows: first place – the school team, second place. Venue – Semjén FC, III. Location – Bad Boys. In addition to the winners, the best goalkeeper (Ákos Szkirkanici) and best player (Sebastian Kereszturi) were also honored.

The wreckage derby has always been a huge hit in Gáthegy, and this year was no different, with around a thousand people marching to the edge of the village at noon. Forty cars took part in it, including those built in Simgen. Meanwhile, the children enjoyed an interactive music program in Niebekert, and the local teachers also prepared different activities.

In the exhibition hall of the Frater Lorand House of Culture, the Debrecen Handicraft Foundation exhibition opened in the early afternoon. The activities of the Foundation and the work of folk craftsmen were reviewed. Founding member Katalin Tarr, Caroline Zuboszli, was introduced. The exhibition will remain in Ersemgen through the fall, so it is possible to visit by prior appointment. In Niebekert, children from local kindergartens and primary schools performed their dance performances, and later Ersemjén’s Exotic performed.

It hosted the local folk dance group Ezüstperje and its alternative group, the Perjécske Children’s Group, who came from other settlements: the folk dance groups Terbetét from Zila, Rokolya from Berettyóújfalu and Nagyberek from Nyírábrány. Érsemjén Folk Dance Meeting was supported by Communitas Foundation and RMDSZ as well as Érsemjén Village. Then the children and youth dancers of the Tiny Dance Center took to the stage. In the evening, only the star guests played the main role: the Kiscipő band from Budapest, and then Mario, the harmonica player.

In the early hours of Sunday, according to tradition, the villagers were awakened by horsemen, who were lured out to the festive parade. At Niepkert, everyone was welcomed by announcer Bab Nicoletta, then church representatives shared their festive thoughts. The Reformed Church choir performed two arrangements, then Laurent Imre Borsey, President of the RMDSZ in Ersemgen, greeted the gathering, and Deputy Mayor Temar Søren and Senator Attila Cheke presented the most beautiful porta awards. In the central park one of Ersmegen’s greatest natives, Ferenc Cazinze, is remembered. The students of the local school conducted a ceremonial program, and then Attila Cheki made a speech.

In the afternoon, small and large groups of children performing one after the other were followed by Zabolcs Peris, known as Mr. Samanbar, with a performance. The folk music group Soroglya from Nagyvárad gave a concert, followed by local folk dancers, then Akác Nyíló from Érmihályfalv and Bábota from Monospetri. The crowd was able to clap to the modern beat thanks to Zsolt Máté from Érmihályfalv and his talking taco, then Szabyest, a popular teen star on TikTok, and singer Zoltán Bereczki performed. At the end of the Ersmegen Society days, Imre Laurent Pursey addressed the audience, followed by fireworks.
