Coronavirus has reappeared in New Zealand, and the military is now monitoring quarantine

Coronavirus and its control. The situation at home and in the world.

State Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced at a press conference on Wednesday that the New Zealand Defense Forces, the army, will oversee the racial segregation of arrivals to the country due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

According to the prime minister, the reason for the decision is that the authorities responsible for maintaining the quarantine made an “unacceptable mistake” in allowing two women returning from Britain to leave quarantine to visit their dying father. It was later discovered that they were infected with the Coronavirus, and their freedom of movement gave a new impetus to the disease in New Zealand, where no new infections were recorded for 24 days. According to the prime minister, the army will ensure that this mistake is never repeated, and for this purpose, the clause under which the two women were released earlier in the quarantine legislation will also be deleted.

Ardern also said that the state’s borders will remain closed to everyone, allowing only returning New Zealanders. (Axios)
