Catalog – Economy – Ford Trucks are a fire hazard, and are being withdrawn from circulation
The recall applies to Escape and Lincoln Corsair SUVs and Maverick compact trucks equipped with a 2.5-liter hybrid or hybrid engine and released between 2020 and 2023. Reuters.
According to the Ford report, the engines that failed prematurely released oil and fuel vapors.
Thus, the main components became more vulnerable to fire and could catch fire at any time.
The company advised owners to stop the engine if they noticed any unexpected noise, smoke or a decrease in the car’s performance.
Back in July 2022, Ford recalled 100,000 Escape, Corsair and Maverick models in the US after they began smoking and burning due to block and oil pan damage.
America’s No. 2 automaker said last week it was recalling 142,000 Lincoln MKC SUVs in the US due to a fire risk and advising owners to park outdoors and away from buildings until recall repairs are complete.
Index previously wrote that Ford was the third most popular car brand among Hungarians in 2023.
