Östersund, Sweden – Canadians Kadriana and Colton Lott maintained their unbeaten record at the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship with a 6-4 win over South Korea on Monday.

The husband and wife duo from Gimli, Man., trailed 3-0 early as Jeon Kim and Byungjin Jeong scored singles in each of the first three ends.

The second and third steals came with Kadriana Lott narrowly missing on restarts.

She responded with two key shots – an equalizer in the fourth end to score three goals and tie the game, and then a difficult shot to clear a South Korean shot in the fifth end that left Canada sitting in second place.

Kim was vulnerable in her final draw and Canada stole the equalizer for a lead it would not relinquish.

“Yeah, I think it definitely motivated me,” Kadriana Lott said of her shot in the fifth end. “Missing those last shots and those first couple of moments doesn't put you in the greatest mindset. But I know I can shoot, so it was nice to do that.”

Colton Lott said it was good to get some back ground after opening the tournament with convincing wins over New Zealand, Czechia and the Netherlands.

“Playing all eight sides and being in such a tight game keeps us more involved in what we are doing and prepares us for the weekend,” he said.

The Lotts improved their record to 4-0, tied for first place at the top of Group A with Swedish brothers Rasmus and Isabella Rana.
