Bianca Andreescu stepped forward, and Simona Halep took her position

Bianca Andreescu, who was born in Romanian to Canada, moved up in the final of the Miami Championship by three places to move from ninth to sixth in the world tennis rankings, which were updated by the WTA on Monday.

Miami tournament winner Ashley Party confirmed his leadership position, followed by Japanese Naomi Osaka and Simona Halep. And the Belarusian Arena Sabalenka advanced to seventh place.

Outside of Halep, four Romanian tennis players ranked in the top 100 this week: Patricia 63ig at 63rd, Sorana Kirstia at 65th, Irina Bijou at 74th, and Anna Bogdan at 100th.

In doubles, Raluca Olaru is still at 41, Monica Niculescu at 55, and Andrea Mito is 90th.
