Another popular downtown area has announced its closure.

Another venue in the party district has closed: now the popular Keksz Bisztró in Madách tér has announced that it will open its doors for the last time on October 6.

The news was announced in a Facebook post. As it reads,

Keksz will close its doors on the evening of October 6, 2024 in Madách Square. Not forever, but now we say goodbye.

The popular bistro, where we can have breakfast even late at night, opened on January 12, 2012 in the heart of Madách tér. As the operating team said, they wanted to create an affordable place in the city, an environment where everyone can come home.

The interior was renovated in 2017, and the balcony was expanded in 2018. “We have survived the pandemic, and in the past 12 years we have seen many friendships, marriages and births of children. Thank you for these almost 13 years. It was wonderful to be part of the sparkling life of Budapest,” they wrote.

According to the post, they may not be saying goodbye to their guests for long, but for sure. They also noted that in the next two weeks, that's it. Until closing on October 6th They also have special programs and a farewell party, so it's worth a visit.
