Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on countermeasures in response to visa restrictions from countries not friendly to Russia, which was published on the official legal information portal on Monday.

The regulation was justified in response to the unfriendly act of the European Union. Under the document, Russia suspended a number of provisions in visa facilitation agreements with the European Union, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

Putin also instructed the Foreign Ministry to impose personal entry restrictions on foreigners and stateless persons who have committed unfriendly acts.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, in cooperation with the federal executive bodies empowered to make a decision to refuse entry to the Russian Federation, shall impose personal restrictions on entry into and stay in the Russian Federation for foreign citizens and stateless persons who are Russian subjects or stateless persons. friendly against its members ”- as stated in the regulation.
