Several people have pointed out that their Radeon RX 7900 video card is seriously overheating, and AMD has finally responded to the complaints.
A few months ago AMD’s Radeon RX7000 video cards, which were supposed to compete with the latest 4000 series from Nvidia GeForce, finally hit stores, but in the past few weeks it turns out that the joy is unfortunately not noisy, as a large number of damaged pieces may have come out from the production line.
Specifically, several users experienced serious overheating in the case of the RX 7900 XTX cards, and in many cases the cards were running at temperatures as high as 110 degrees Celsius, which wasn’t helped even by the cooling fans spinning at full speed.
After a long silence, AMD finally responded to these complaints, although they weren’t exaggerating, as they practically asked affected users to contact customer service:
“We are aware that some of our users are experiencing overheating of their AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX graphics cards. We encourage these users to contact AMD Customer Support.”
Although AMD’s answer didn’t help much, according to some users, replacing the thermal paste does indeed make a noticeable improvement. In any case, we recommend this option only to those who are really sure of what they are doing, and the rest are really better to contact the manufacturer or the store where they bought the card.
