According to the US President, the Israeli operation in Gaza is excessive

The United States announced on Thursday that it had destroyed four drones and seven drones belonging to the Houthi rebels in Yemen, which were “equipped to launch against ships in the Red Sea,” MTI reported.

The military's Central Command (Centcom) reported on social media site

On Wednesday, the US Armed Forces also attacked areas belonging to the Iran-aligned Houthi movement. “Self-defense strikes were carried out against two mobile anti-ship missile systems that were ready to be launched against ships in the Red Sea,” Central Command wrote.

The same source added that later that day, “a second strike was carried out against a ready-to-launch mobile unmanned aerial vehicle launch system.”

Central Command stressed that its actions “protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer for the US Navy and commercial ships.”

The Houthi militia has repeatedly attacked ships in the Red Sea, which they say are linked to shipments to Israel. They say the aim is to end Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, which followed an unprecedented massacre committed by the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas in Israel on October 7.

In view of the risks, major shipping companies are increasingly avoiding the shortest sea route between Asia and Europe.
