According to the Pentagon, most UFO sightings are merely classified military science tests

According to the latest Pentagon report, the increase in UFO sightings in the 1950s and 1960s was caused by tests of advanced US spy planes and space technology, and there is no evidence that the US government has encountered alien life.

In recent decades, there have been countless reports of numerous unidentified flying objects (UAPs), most of which were due to some strange celestial phenomenon. A new investigation conducted by the Pentagon and received by Congress on Friday claims that popular culture has influenced the public's perception of UFO reports and that this has led to a rise in conspiracy theories.

Pentagon officials have examined various reports over the years and decided so No evidence of extraterrestrial visitors has been found. Major General Pat Rader put it this way:

All investigative efforts, at every level of classification, have concluded that most sightings were ordinary objects and phenomena and were the result of misidentification.

The report lists new technologies that researchers believe led to a significant rise in UAP reporting in the 1950s and 1960s. Among them are high-altitude balloons and a U-2 spy plane. According to the CIA's assessment, more than half of the UFO reports investigated at the time were American reconnaissance flights.
